New Patient Experience
Your first visit to Walker and Kraus is a special time. It is the start of a close, long-term relationship with your dentists and with your dental team. On your first visit, you will receive a variety of assessments designed to help us get to know you and to complete a picture of your dental and your overall health.
Afterward, you will receive a personal consultation that includes an overview of your treatment options. Your overall dental and oral health will be assessed with a comprehensive oral evaluation. Upon completion of your medical / dental health form, we will ask you to tell us your goals regarding your smile, teeth, and gums. Digital photos and X-rays will be taken of your teeth to identify areas of decay, cracked teeth and malfunctioning restorations. Our goal is to preserve as many of your teeth as possible by catching decay in its earliest stages. We will also assess your gums and will recommend the appropriate hygiene treatment for you. There will be many opportunities for you to ask questions as well. Your first visit will include:
- Digital radiographs (X-rays)
- Periodontal and restorative evaluations
- Oral cancer screening
- TMJ evaluation
- Intraoral exam and photos
- Cosmetic assessment of tooth color and alignment
- A plan for professional hygiene treatment based on the above evaluations
Additionally, we offer several comfort items for our patients, including dark glasses, mouth props, pillows, blankets, and heated neck rolls.
